Sister Edholm -- week 12

Hello everybody! :)

This week was a good productive week until Friday when I had a little bit of an accident:
I got out of the shower on friday and I slipped and my foot went under the door to the bathroom and I pulled it out and my big toenail had ripped OFF (okay well basically it was barely hanging on)! I didn't know what to do. I opened the bathroom door and yelled for Sister Truman, she came out and was like OH MY GOSH, what do I do? She called our mission president's wife and she thought she had said I lost my toe and so she was kinda freaking out and then realized that she had said toenail and she just said to elevate it and put pressure on it until it stopped bleeding. I didn't really want anyone pressing on it though because it hurt and we needed to pull the toenail the rest of the way off. SO ANYWAY, I laid on my bed and we called this lady in our branch that is a nurse and she came over and pulled it off and dressed it for me and then was nice enough to take us to breakfast, but pretty much the rest of the day we had to stay in because it hurt too bad to put my shoes on and walk. lol anyway there you go, there's a cool and exciting story for you, there are pictures attached if you want to look.

I was reading in 2 Nephi 33 last week and I really liked the message in it. It is in verse 10 and it says: "And now, my beloved brethren, and also jew, and all ye ends of the earth, hearken unto these words and believe in Christ; and if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ, And if ye shall believe in Christ ye will believed in these words, for they are the words of Christ, and he hath given them unto me; and they teach all men that they should do good."

The underlined portion is the part that I liked because it shows that as we come to know that what the prophets say are true we WILL believe in Christ because THEY ARE the words of Christ! I really liked that.

Read the Book of Mormon and study it!

Have an amazing week!

And more basketball

On Friday Worland hosted Newcastle in the last home game of the season. They beat them and are off to regionals next week.  Andy played a great game and David Huber, our awesome photographer, caught some great shots.

There's our number 12!

He made the basket! In the upper left hand corner you can see Brian, me, and Eric. Eric and I were having a conversation and missed his shot!

Lucy and Peter, the swimmer and wrestler.

Sports in Wyoming sometimes requires you to be in different cities for different kids that can be miles and miles apart. Thankfully this weekend the two cities were a little closer. Peter had his first wrestling meet in Lovell. He came in 4th place and was a little disappointed with his results, but it's just the first meet and he will get better. After all of us (Brian, Andy, Eric, Peter, and me) got to Lovell I drove 30 miles to Powell to watch Lucy swim. She has never been on a swim team before and is really enjoying it. She swam in a relay and the 50 free and 50 back. In her heats she came in second to last most times, but she is determined to improve.

Getting ready to go! Pete's in the blue suit.

Putting the press on his guy!

Focused on beating the next wrestler!

Entertaining himself while he waits to wrestle!

I videoed Lucy's two races so Brian could see her. Her teammates are really supportive and cheer for each other all the time. It was a pretty stark contrast when I walked out of the aquatic center in Powell to 5 degree weather!  Those poor swimmers really have to cover up when they leave the pool so their hair doesn't freeze!

Sister Edholm - week 11

hello! :)

This week we did a lot of finding. We do some different things to mix it up, because it definitely gets pretty monotonous sometimes, one thing that I like that we do is when we are going out chapping (knocking doors), we go down to the bus stop and get on a random bus and then we get off at whatever bus we feel inspired to get off at, it is just something fun that mixes it up.

We had a great experience a couple 2 weeks ago that goes along with something that happened today. 2 weeks ago we went to get on a bus and we went up to Gourock, before we had been on the bus for 30 seconds, we got in an accident and what was supposed to be a 15 minute bus ride turned into an hour bus ride. By the time we got to Gourock we only had 15 minutes to chap, but we went for it anyway. After we chapped the first door this crazy blizzard came about lol. We knocked the next door and we set up an appointment and placed a Book of Mormon! We taught that lady today and it went well, she isn't really that interested in converting per se, but she wants to learn all about it. A funny thing happened while we were at her house, she gave us juice and I accidentally spilled it all over my scriptures haha it was terrible. When we were leaving she said that she was going to get me a cup with a lid next time ahah.

Have a great week,
Sister Edholm

Here is the video Emma made and has been trying to share with me. It finally worked! Here is the YouTube link:

Lucy's musical debut

Lucy has been rehearsing for the middle school musical and their performance of  "Don't Say No to the USO" was this last weekend. It takes place in 1942 and focuses on spies during WWII and the people who volunteered in the USO. The kids did a great job and Lucy loved it!  I got to help with the 1940s hair do for the performances which was hard, but now I can do those uprolls!

Sister Edholm -- week 10

HERE COMES THE SUN

Hello Hello!

The sun actually came out! This week the weather has definitely changed, really wet and sleeting outside today.
This week was a pretty regular week of finding and teaching. We taught our friend Lauren 2 times this week and we asked her to read the Book of Mormon and the next day she had read 15 chapters!! She was said,"I wasn't able to get that far..." I was amazed!! We said,"Oh no, you did! 15 chapters is incredible!" She is doing really well!

We had a Burns Supper on Friday and we helped get it ready, some pictures are below!

Sorry this is so short, have a great week love you all!!
