Sister Edholm -- week 60

God watches out for us.

This week, we had a lot of travel issues and we were VERY low on funds ... hahha. We were supposed to get these zone passes. We went to Glasgow Central to get them on a Wednesday, well turns out that you can't get them on a Wednesday you can only get them on Saturdays. So we went back on Saturday and the way that we were going to pay for them didn't go through, long story short, we had a lot of unnecessary travel with money we didn't have and now we have to wait until next Saturday.

Sister Peterson called it homeless, but with a home. haha. We were really blessed though with lunch and dinner appointments almost every day. Just so you know, that never happens, so God is really looking out for us!

Anyway don't worry we are getting everything figured out.

We met this really cool family from India that we had an on the spot lesson with, turns out that they live in our building. They are originally Sikh, but don't have super strong beliefs in it. They came to a baptism that we had at the church!!

I was talking to Sister Elison at that baptism (they were there because her companion sister linco was translating, the people that were baptised were from el salvador and don't speak much english). Sister Elison was saying that they needed someone to give a talk at the baptism they were having that night and I volunteered, so off we went to Paisley.

Crazy.

Hope you all have had a good week as well!!

Sister Edholm -- week 59

Hey :))

We had Scotland South Conference this week, it was really good. We talked a lot about being genuine when you are doing missionary and not getting into routine. You don't want to be a robot.

We had just finished chapping on Saturday morning and we were heading back for lunch. We stopped this guy, he is from the Czech Republic. He is so cool, he wanted to learn more and we invited him to come to church with us, he didn't end up coming, but we are meeting with him this week.

Sister Peterson and I put a lot of emphasis on getting into member's houses this week and we set up a lot of appointments with them on Sunday.

Hope you all have a great week!!

Love,
Sister Edholm

Sister Edholm -- week 58

Hey Pals,

What a week. Since I know that no one actually reads these things, I will start out with the funny story.

We have this friend who we are teaching. He isn't really progressing, but he always wants to meet up with us to read the Book of Mormon. So this week was like any other we met him at the library. In the middle of the lesson, Sister Peterson really needed to use the toilet. So she left me with him. When she left he grabbed my arm from across the table and said, "I really like reading paragraphs with you" and then he didn't take his hand off. I tried to slowly move my arm, but he wasn't letting go. Sister Peterson came back and saved me. Then we had another lesson with him. This time he asked to see one of my rings and so I went to take it off, but he grabbed my finger and held my hand while he 'admired' my ring. Anyway later in the lesson he told us that he didn't want to be baptised and that he was just meeting with us to convert us, so we dropped him then and there. So don't worry, no more love affairs.

AZIN WANTS TO BE BAPTISED, SHE IS NOW ON DATE. WHAT. A. LEGEND.

Anyway, have a lovely rest of your week.

Sincerely,
Sister Edholm

Sister Edholm -- week 57

Hey Dogs!!

I have like no time!! Sorry I have been pretty busy the last couple of weeks!! The new year was amazing we have such great members in this ward!!
The elders have this friend who doesn't speak much English and has been going to the Paisley ward because one of the sisters there is from Argentina. This week they put her on date to be baptised, so she needed to come to the right ward, which is ours. So we did an exchange for church and I got to go back to Paisley with Sister Elison!! It was so fun, I got to see everyone again. Haha, a lot of the members didn't even remember... One member even came up to us and said, "I am so glad that you both stayed!" ... We corrected her, but it was still hilarious.

Last night Sister Peterson and I went to a Come Follow Me family home evening with some members in our ward. It was really fun and the Spirit was pretty strong!! We went chapping afterwards and we both got this power surge of motivation to do missionary work and just to work as hard as we can. SPRINT TO THE END!!

we bought some trousers today.

Love,
Sister Edholm

Sports...

In our town there is a photographer that takes most of the sports pictures. I haven't looked at his facebook page in a while and noticed today that there are several from the beginning of the year that I haven't seen. So here is a boatload of my kids in their sports!

Lucy: Middle School Cross Country
She is on the left side of the photo on the back of her friend Fiona pulling her eyes down.

Eric: High School Cross Country

Andrew: High School Basketball - #12

This same photographer took photos of the Christmas parade. The missionaries had a float with Mr. Krueger's Christmas as the theme. Andrew was Mr. Krueger. Eric was also on the float, but you can't see him in the picture very well. He was Joseph.

He also took photos of a Christmas party we went to hosted by our good friends the Trombley's:
Peter is waiting in line to see Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Lucy is in the background too.
