Sister Edholm -- week 21

ELDER EDHOLM

HELLO!!!

It has been a crazy busy week, but I love it, because it feels good, to always be on the move!

We taught some really good lessons to our solid friends! One of our friends, Kenneth, we taught on Friday with the Bishop's daughter Sarah. We went over the Priesthood a little more in depth. He kept getting confused because he thought we were saying Priest Hood. It was hilarious. He ended up getting it! He also was able to come to church on Sunday!! He loved it and said that he will come back!

MIRACLE: We went over to our friend Kristian's house to teach him and his 10 year old daughter Vanessa was able to join us. Although Kristian was distracted for the most part by his 2 year old son, Vanessa was so intent on learning more! She made sure that she understood everything that we were saying. We had her read James 1:5 and she put the whole verse in her own words, once we defined the words that were hard to understood. At the end of the lesson, we invited her to be baptised and she accepted!! YAYAY :)))

Clondalkin is a great area to be in right now!

FUNNY STORY: Sister Westbroek and I both ordered tags last transfer and they came in, but... apparently I am an Elder, because mine came in as Elder Edholm lol! It was hilarious, I was able to order new tags!

Love you all! I hope you have an amazing week!

Peter participated in the Pinewood Derby last week. He was hoping to better his place of third from last year, but it was a repeat. He came in third again!

Sister Edholm -- week 20

CLONDALKIN

"Hello, how are you? We are asking people what has made them smile today" :)

This week went by so fast, but if there is one thing that I have learned on my mission it is that when time goes by fast it means that you are in the right place.

We were in a trio on Thursday because Sister Ellsworth was in a leadership training meeting in Edinburgh and Sister Hogan wasn't able to come with her. It was super fun, although we had to wake up at 3 in the morning because Sister Ellsworth needed to be at the church by 4. It wasn't too bad, once Sister Ellsworth left for the airport we all took a nap in the church until our bus came.

Clondalkin is a great area and I am so blessed to be Sister Westbroek's companion, we are definitely relying on the Spirit to guide us in our lessons! We are both young in the mission and still have no idea what we are doing, but that is what makes it fun, right?

I hope that you all have a great week!

Sister Edholm -- week 19

HELLO IRELAND

Hello Everyone!!

As you can tell from the title, I got moved to Ireland, it is a suburb right outside of Dublin called Clondalkin and my new companion is Sister Westbroek, she is from Syracuse, Utah.

This week has been CRAZY! We taught our super golden friend Chris and his partner Londi! We got to meet their brand new baby, he is super cute!!

On Sunday I quickly packed and we slept over night in Glasgow and partied with the sisters there. We then left on Monday morning and packed ourselves into their car to go to the bus station, I will send a picture of that next week! We took a ferry across to Ireland and then I got on another bus down to Dublin.

I am all settled in now and so excited for what this transfer has to offer!!

I was talking with Sister Wayne the other day about how this last transfer has been all about loving everyone and making sure that we are recognizing that we are all God's children and we all deserve to receive God's love!

Love you all!!

Junior Prom at Worland High School was last night. Andy asked Jaycee Page and they looked very nice together.

The group that ate dinner together.

My brother-in-law snapped some pictures at Audrey and John's Open House in Orem last week.

Entrance to the church. Lauren made the beautifully written signs.

Audrey talking with Van before everything starts.

My boys and the food! (Notice the pic of Emma, it looks like it may be her funeral!)

Two lovely couples!

MIRACLE WEEK!

Hi,

I hope that you all enjoyed general conference and didn't faint from all of the big changes!

This week was full of miracles!
1: We contacted this former investigator and set up a time to meet with him and his brother who is a recent convert!! He accepted baptism!!

2: This potential investigator that we contacted a couple of weeks ago, texted us on Sunday morning and we were able to invite him to church and he came with his 3 year old son!!

Thank you for all the prayers, because they are working!!

Sister Wayne and I are partying hard here in Greenock!!

I hope you all have a great week!

What a week!

Thursday: Bridal pictures at Griffith's Observatory in L.A.

Friday: wedding at the L.A. temple, reception in La Canada.

Saturday: Venice Beach

Sunday: General conference, Fresno temple, Fresno sun, Sanger, Madera, Atwater, Ione, Jackson, and finally Pine Grove-my mission areas. We stayed the night with Nola Hofmann in Pine Grove. I had dinner at her home when I was there. She was a great hostess and we loved our time there.

Listening to conference inside the Fresno Stake Center

This I remember, the sun is so bright and hot in Fresno!
High school in Jackson

Chickens in the Hofmann's yard

Monday: Sutter Creek, Lake Tahoe, and Reno. (And very windy roads)
Ice cream soda store in Sutter Creek

Ice cream for breakfast is the best!!

High school in Sutter Creek. This is where Nola Hofmann's children went including Ben Hofmann, Worland High School's Girls Basketball Coach.

Emerald Bay, my favorite spot in all of Tahoe!

Andy and Brian skipping rocks, because it was too cold for anything else.

Eric
Lucy

Look at that blue lake!  My favorite Lake in the world!

Tuesday: Nevada stretch of I-80. Not too much fun. We stopped in Elko to visit with our friends the Williams' that we met when Brian and I were in Kirtland Ohio and they were serving a mission there. Wonderful people!  No pics this day because, well, it's Nevada and not my fav! (Probably because of the many summers I drove across Nevada with my family with zero air conditioning!)

Wednesday: Stayed over night in Wendover, finally got to Utah!  Orthodontist appointments and time with the grandson!

Thursday: Wedding reception prep

Friday: Wedding reception in Orem. I was so busy I didn't take time to snap any pictures. It rained so we moved it inside the church and it turned out well!

Saturday: We said goodbye to my sister and her husband and Lauren and Matt and sweet Van, we will miss them!  It was great to stay with them and hang out for awhile!  We were supposed to leave for Worland, but got a late start and Brian was really tired so we decided to be spontaneous (not something we are used to) and stayed the night in Salt Lake (in the best hotel of the trip).

Sunday: Attended a ward that Brian used to attend with his father to watch the priesthood session when his dad lived in downtown Salt Lake. We got to meet Bishop Davies of the presiding bishopric and F. Burton Howard, an emeritus seventy, who went to high school in Thermopolis!  We decided to walk around temple square and then went to the conference center and got a tour. It was nice!

Open your eyes Eric!
We finally arrived home at 7:00pm!  Whew!  We drove over 3100 miles in a week!  It was well worth it and the kids were pretty chill about it (mostly).  We are tired though and happy to be in our own beds!  What a road trip!  Huge thanks to all those who helped along the way with the wedding in L.A., the reception in Orem and everything in between!  My family is awesome and I'm happy to add John Potter to our already great son-in-law Matt. Our daughters have chosen well!

Sister Edholm - week 17

Welcome!

This week has been filled with finding are really good laughs.
We have this guy that always tells us a joke when he sees us, the latest joke:
**This boy was buttering his toast and his toast fell down onto the ground, butter side UP! He was amazed and went to his Priest and said, this is the greatest miracle, how could this have happened?? The Priest didn't know, so he went to the Archbishop and he didn't know, but he said that he would bring the situation to the Pope. They go to the Pope and ask him and he thinks for a second and then whispers something in the Archbishops ear. The Archbishop goes to the boy and tells him what the Pope said, he said,"You must have buttered the wrong side of the toast!"**

We had the opportunity to watch conference this weekend. It was so good, we still haven't finished all of the sessions, because of the time difference. That was probably the weirdest part, it was strange to watch the Saturday morning session at night.
I have never gone to conference with questions before, but this time I did and it was so good! They were answered and it really helped me to focus on the talks and what they were saying as well as actively listen for the Spirit as it would help me answer the questions that I had prepared.

I hope that you all enjoyed conference and loved being able to take part in the solemn assembly as we were able to sustain our new prophet President Russell M. Nelson. I know that he is a prophet of God and that he truly has the keys to direct this church!!

I love you all,
Sister Edholm
