And more basketball

On Friday Worland hosted Newcastle in the last home game of the season. They beat them and are off to regionals next week.  Andy played a great game and David Huber, our awesome photographer, caught some great shots.

There's our number 12!

He made the basket! In the upper left hand corner you can see Brian, me, and Eric. Eric and I were having a conversation and missed his shot!

Lucy and Peter, the swimmer and wrestler.

Sports in Wyoming sometimes requires you to be in different cities for different kids that can be miles and miles apart. Thankfully this weekend the two cities were a little closer. Peter had his first wrestling meet in Lovell. He came in 4th place and was a little disappointed with his results, but it's just the first meet and he will get better. After all of us (Brian, Andy, Eric, Peter, and me) got to Lovell I drove 30 miles to Powell to watch Lucy swim. She has never been on a swim team before and is really enjoying it. She swam in a relay and the 50 free and 50 back. In her heats she came in second to last most times, but she is determined to improve.

Getting ready to go! Pete's in the blue suit.

Putting the press on his guy!

Focused on beating the next wrestler!

Entertaining himself while he waits to wrestle!

I videoed Lucy's two races so Brian could see her. Her teammates are really supportive and cheer for each other all the time. It was a pretty stark contrast when I walked out of the aquatic center in Powell to 5 degree weather!  Those poor swimmers really have to cover up when they leave the pool so their hair doesn't freeze!

Lucy's musical debut

Lucy has been rehearsing for the middle school musical and their performance of  "Don't Say No to the USO" was this last weekend. It takes place in 1942 and focuses on spies during WWII and the people who volunteered in the USO. The kids did a great job and Lucy loved it!  I got to help with the 1940s hair do for the performances which was hard, but now I can do those uprolls!
