Basketball banquet happened last night. Andrew not only got a varsity letter, he was named as an honorable mention to the all-conference team.

Sister Edholm - week 16
Hello :)))
It has been a crazy week, but Sister Wayne and I are finally settled in!
I
was a little nervous about leading the area, because I am still not
sure about where things are, even though I have been here for awhile,
but I learned that I know where more things are then I expected, which
is just grand! We haven't gotten lost yet haha.
We
had a miracle this week! On Saturday, while I was brushing my teeth, I
had the thought to go to this other part of our area that is pretty far
away. I asked Sister Wayne what she thought and she was up for it. When
we got there we GQed most of the day, without much luck, nobody really
wanted to speak to us. After companionship study we decided to use our
last 45 minutes in the area to chap. We started chapping and we were
about 5 houses in and while we were at this person's door, this girl
comes up behind us and says, "Hey, are you guys talking to people about
Jesus Christ and how to restore faith?" We obviously said, "YES!" We
started talking to her and taught her the whole Restoration and she
accepted a date to be baptised!! Her name is Alex and she is only 17
years old!
It was
the greatest experience, I have learned that on the days, where I am
feeling pretty down and discouraged because the only person that wants
to hear my voice is my companion, is when Heavenly Father sends us the
greatest miracle!
I am so excited for conference next week!
Have a great week!!

Worland Middle School Soccer
Eric decided to play soccer at the Middle School this year. The first two games were today in Buffalo. Buffalo is about an hour and a half over the mountain from us. The Ten Sleep canyon was looking beautiful and snow covered. When we drove into Buffalo the fog was thick, but cleared soon. The cold and wind did not. It was freezing! Eric saw a lot of playing time during the first game against Newcastle which they won. He saw a few minutes in the Buffalo game. He is enjoying it and I'm proud of him for trying something new.

Sister Edholm -- week 15
HELLO
This
is the end of my second transfer and it has been crazy!! Sister Truman
finished her mission, so she went home, and now I am companions
with........ SISTER WAYNE. She is from Riverton, Utah and is super
cool!
In
result of moves, in the last two days I have had so many companions. I
was with the Stls and then I was with Sister Tucker and then I was with
Sister Sun and now I am finally with Sister Wayne!
There
has been a lot of talk about God's timing and how we don't ever really
know what is going to happen, I know that is true and that everything we
go through really isn't coincidence, God knows us individually and
loves us more than we can imagine!!
That is all there is time for, but I hope that you all have a great week!!
I love all of you!

End of season for swimming and wrestling, National Honor Society
Middle School Conference swim meet was today here in Worland. I volunteered as a timer which was fun and gave me front row seats to watch Lucy swim. She took seconds off her times in both the 50 back and 50 free. She did a great job for never having swum competitively before. Her and her best friend Fiona had their hair done by Fiona's sister Macy and it looked great! Taking all that out might take awhile!
Peter had his last wrestling meet today in Thermopolis. He didn't do well and lost his first two matches, but he had a good season and improved this year over last and we are proud of him!
Andy was inducted into National Honor Society and a good friend of mine snapped some pictures of him and the rest of the Juniors and Seniors. Here in Worland, National Honor Society is only for 11th and 12th graders.
Andy also went to FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) conference the last part of this week. He took an accounting test and got 3rd place which qualifies him for nationals! Way to go Andrew!

State Basketball
The Worland Warriors came in 4th in their region and so qualified for state, even though our team has a losing record. The team has improved each game and has come a long way since the start of the season. The first team we met was Cody which beat us handily by over 30 points back in December. Our boys were ready to beat them and we were ahead the ENTIRE game until the last seconds and lost by 1 point! It was heart breaking! Then we faced Pinedale and won by 10 and then played for 4th place against Lander Valley and won by 5. Warriors came in 4th and fought hard the entire time. Andy was a rock star with numerous rebounds and points scored. He started every game and gave it his all. The photographer got a few shots of him during the three days of play in Casper.
This is just his back, #12, in the game against the Cody Broncs. |

Sister Edholm - week 14
HELLO :)
This
week I was so thankful for the rain, because it washed all of the snow
away. We had a really nice day on Friday, it was sunny and I only had to
wear a jacket!!
We had such a good lesson with Lauren on Friday, just to add to the great weather!!
Yesterday
was British Mothers Day and they had the "primary" sing in sacrament
meeting, there were only 2 primary kids though, so the young women and
young man, and Sister Truman and I went up and sang with them. It was
really fun, I kind of miss being a primary kid!! Since Sister Truman
goes home next week, it was her last Sunday in the Greenock Branch, so
they had her bear her testimony in sacrament and they had a little munch
and mingle afterwards for her, which was really nice.
We
have this family in our area that are Catholic and they feed us every
week, they are the nicest family! Anyway, they invited us to go to a
Catholic mass with them, so we did yesterday. It was super short, only
like 30 minutes!! It was a pretty cool experience though, definitely
something I will never forget!
Have a great week everyone!! :)

Blogs of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West
I was asked to write a blog post for the Buffalo Bill Center of the West where I work part time for the McCracken Research Library. I have been cataloging publications from the Winchester Repeating Arms Company and found some very interesting insights to employment and women in the early 1900s. I wrote a short blog post highlighting this collection that the library houses. You can check it out if you'd like, just click on the title below.

THE BEAST FROM THE EAST
Man oh man this week has been crazy!
Man oh man this week has been crazy!
We had Scotland
South Conference this week and it was great! They talked all about the
Book of Mormon and how we need to use it at every opportunity!
We
had a crazy blizzard come in the last couple of days, it was from
Russia and it was called, "the beast from the east." In result of it we
were banned from all travel and we had to proselyte only by our flat.
I
also received 2 hats this week haha! One was from this guy that we were
talking to, trying to convince him to let us shovel his walkway, he
didn't let us, but I wasn't wearing a hat and so he went inside and gave
me one, what a nice man!! The second hat was from our neighbor, since
we were stuck inside for awhile we made cookies for our neighbors and we
even gave some to a random person on the street to start a conversation
with her. We gave the cookies to our neighbor and she invited us inside
and then said, "I saw you walking around without a hat yesterday, do
you want one?" She went and grabbed the coolest hat I have ever seen! It
is from Austria and it is all fur, lol I will send a picture next week
because it is so cool! People are so nice!!
This next week should be back to normal, we are going to one of our islands this week, so that should be really fun!
THE BOOK OF MORMON IS TRUE, READ YOUR SCRIPTURES DAILY!!
Have a great week!

Middle School band concert
Both Eric and Lucy play percussion in the middle school band, Lucy in 6th and Eric in 8th. They did well in the concert tonight.

I thought I had recorded more, but I must have not pressed the record button!
