I know it has been over a year since Lauren got married, but I recently got some pictures that her sister-in-law took at the temple and I really like them and not wanting to inundate Facebook with them I thought I'd post them here.

Elder Edholm--week 54

So last week I got on to write and after I wrote president in an area where there is 24 hour light, the light went out, and didn't come back until 10 the morning after, so there was no light, no nothing. So sorry about that.

So a lot has happened. Duary got baptized last week and it went great. He looked really happy and he even bore his testimony afterwards.

So, earlier last week I got my haircut, and when you get your haircut here they use single straight blade razors for the neck and side burns. So I guess the guy cut me or something because I got a couple ingrown hairs. I didn't think much of them until it started growing more and more and started hurting more and more and it was the size of a golf ball (and as hard as a golf ball too) but it just hurt like crazy and my shirt collar made it hurt even worse. So I called the doctor and he said it was a huge staff infection, yay skin infections, again!!! But I'm taking the pills and doing the things he told me to do. It opened up and the pus just kind of slowly oozes out all of the time, so I always have to have band aids and stuff on it. So anyway that's fun.

But besides that everything's going fine. We have this one family that we are teaching that is doing alright. They understand everything very well and really like the message. They told us they were going to go to church on Sunday without fail. But then we went by their house to pick them up and she loudly told her daughter that she wasn't going to go. She is also very closed to getting married. I think she might have had a bad experience with marriage in the past.

Anyway sorry again for not being able to write last week, Love you guys!

Week of unexpected happenings

Andy has been at the BYU football camp this last week and has really enjoyed it.  He said it was much more fun than last year, well until he got injured that is.  On Wednesday he separated his shoulder during a drill run.  The BYU trainers looked at it and made sure nothing was broken.  He has it in a sling for now.  He is coming home from Utah with our friends the Russell's since their daughter, Ellyse, was at the BYU swim camp at the same time.  We got a few pictures from the Russell's of Andy and it looks like he's having a great time with them!

Meanwhile Brian and I decided he needed to go to Kansas City to look for job opportunities.  He had had some phone interviews for a job there and when that fell through he felt he should drive out there.  He has a friend he served with on his mission that lives there and my friend from college who lives in Topeka that he will be staying with.  So far he's liked what he's seen.

I have to include the happy news from our good friends here, the Cottrell's.  Their daughter was expecting their first grand child right after Lauren's baby is due and they had a happy surprise when she came two and a half weeks early!  What glowing grandparents they are!

Elder Edholm -- week 53

So I'm sorry I didn't get to get on internet until 5:35.

But anyway, Dauri passed his interview and he will be getting baptized on this Saturday.

We also found another golden investigator who read on chapter in the Book of Mormon and knew it was true (I'll talk more about that next week).

Anyway sorry for the short letter, I'll send a lot of pictures next week.

This is an awesome shot!  Dad threw the ball to Andy from the other end of the pool and Andy would dive in sideways to catch it.  Bryan got the perfect shot!

Emma and her three friends went on a short little road trip to Utah and Temple Square.  She went with her friends, Saige and Shiloh Winters and Emily Miller.  Andy tagged along a bit since Brian drove him down for BYU's football camp.

Elder Edholm -- week 52 = 1 year!

So I hit 1 year on Friday and I burnt a white shirt! It's pretty cool how the mission goes by. Sometimes I wish I was still starting so I could've started better habits earlier, but I can't so I just have to do my best and change all the time.

But anyway I had a pretty bad ingrown toe nail due to me tripping and a big chunk of my toe nail coming off. So I went to the doctor in the MTC today and he cut it off, so now I have part of my toe nail missing, but it isn't bothering me anymore!

So talking about Jeison's cousin again that I talked about last week. We called her to see if the missionaries in the capital had passed by her house. She said yes and that she went to church yesterday. She sounded really happy, and it made me super happy. Although we only taught her for a week or two, I think it's cool how good of a relationship we established.

So we contacted this group of people last week. I didn't really think much about them, I didn't think they would progress or anything. But we invited them to church and sure enough, the mom and her daughter showed up. It really surprised me and taught me a great lesson. That a person shouldn't be judged based on appearances, that we should have faith in everybody, that every soul really is precious in the sight of God.

But, that's all for this week. I'm glad Peter had a good baptism! Looks really good in his suit!

Memorial Day

Memorial weekend was full of activities.  We had a family reunion in Midway Utah at the Homestead.  This is our 7th year there.  We had a great time.
