Sister Edholm -- week 33

Hello,

Well... this week has been crazy haha.
We have been putting a push this last transfer on getting people to church. So yesterday we decided we were going to walk over with this family that we are teaching. Long story short, they couldn't come and they live clear out in China, so we were late to church. It ended up being okay, we had a lot of our friends at church!!

We taught Faisal this week and it was amazing as always. We taught him the Plan of Salvation. He is so cool and I have never seen someone with such a softened heart. He soaks everything in and then when we stop or pause he just stares at us and then says, "That's amazing!" He is probably the coolest person I have ever met.
He also works at Dominos and gives us free pizza, so that is a great plus and he taught us how to write our names in Urdu.

God is never short on miracles here!

I love you all!!
Have a great week!

Sister Edholm -- week 32

HELLO!!! :)

I had to say goodbye to Sister Westbroek today :( She has definitely taught me a lot these past 2 transfers. My new companion is Sister Hood, she is super cool!

We taught Adele this past week, it was really good! She has a lot of faith in God that everything is going to work out. It gives me hope knowing that as I gain more faith in God, I am able to trust Him more.

D&C 78:17-19

17 Verily, verily, I say unto you, ye are little children, and ye have not as yet understood how great blessings the Father hath in his own hands and prepared for you;
18 And ye cannot bear all things now; nevertheless, be of good cheer, for I will lead you along. The kingdom is yours and the blessings thereof are yours, and the riches of eternity are yours.
19 And he who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious; and the things of this earth shall be added unto him, even an hundred fold, yea, more.

Love you,
❤

Sister Edholm -- week 31

HELLO

We had an amazing miracle this week! Last Tuesday, while we were saying our finding prayer, we could hear someone talking, but we weren't sure if it was to us. When we were done, we looked up and this young man in his car next to us was talking to us. He asked us if we could help him with his Bible study. He held up the King James Version of the Bible and asked if it was the one that we studied from, we said yes.
We met him at the Costa. Let me tell you it was probably the most powerful Spirit I have ever felt. He is such a cool guy. He just converted to Christianity 2 weeks ago. He was Muslim before. He loves the way that he feels when he reads the Bible and how it describes God as a loving God, instead of a cruel God.
He had the biggest smile on his face when we handed him the Book of Mormon. He was so eager to take it home and read it along side of the Bible, he loved that it had footnotes that could describe what he was reading better.
MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!!!

We got to meet our new mission president this week and he is so cool. You can already feel the love that he has for each of us individually! Go Old Macdonald!!

I am sorry I have like no time, but I hope you all know that God loves you each individually!

Sister Edholm -- week 30

"I'm a big woman with a big appetite, when I see food, I am going to eat it" - Adele

If you would have asked me in my 3rd transfer, when I was leaving Greenock, where I wanted to go, I would have said Ireland, because I wanted to have a chance of having at least 1 degree warmer weather and maybe one drip less of rain. Well, this week I got my wish. It was boiling hot this week! It was nice, but I had an allergic reaction to the sunscreen I was using and broke out in hives... so that was really fun haha.

I finished the Book of Mormon on my own, for the first time this morning! I have never studied the Book of Mormon as much as I have since I have been on my mission. Before I would read it because I thought that I should, but I never really got anything out of it. I have been able to get to know what the prophets wanted us in our day to hear. The Book of Mormon is not an outdated book, the prophets in it truly did see our day! I know that it is true.

I always thought that the knowledge and spiritual witness the the Book of Mormon was true, would come as an undeniable sign form heaven, I have since learned that it is undeniable, but it is more of a feeling then a sign. In 1 Nephi 17:45, Nephi describes his brothers as being "past feeling," Boyd K. Packer in 1994 October General Conference says, "The Holy Ghost speaks with a voice that you feel more than you hear, it is describes as a 'still small voice' And while we speak of listening to the whisperings of the Spirit, most often one describes a spiritual prompting by saying, 'I had a feeling. . . ' Revelation comes as we feel more than hear. Nephi told his wayward brothers, who were visited by an angel, 'Ye were past feeling, that ye could not feel his words.'" The Spirit speaks to us each individually and like it says in Moroni 7:13, everything good comes from God. In President Nelson's talk in the April Conference he talked a lot about personal revelation and I know that we can all receive revelation for our lives and families.

I know that if you follow the promise in Moroni 10:4-5 and ask God with real intent and a sincere heart if the Book of Mormon is true that you will receive an answer that you can't deny.

I love you!!
