Sister Edholm -- week 38

Hello!!

We got moves call on Saturday and Sister Hood and I are staying together!!

This week was a lot better!! We set up some solid appointments. There really is such thing as a miracle prep week!!

We had the greatest miracle this week!! Ever since I came to Clondalkin I have been praying that our neighbours will be open to hearing about the gospel because they are so prepared! We have had many great conversations with them and when we see them on the street, their kids run up to us and say,"FRIENDS!!" It is the cutest. I love them. Anyway on Wednesday, we were in the elevator with them and their mom read my tag and asked us if we were Christians. We said yes and she began to tell us that she really wants to get away from the Catholic church and has been looking for a different Christian church to be a part of. We explained to her what we do as missionaries and she wanted to meet up!! I know that God answers our prayers!! He cares about us and knows our concerns!

On Saturday, after we met with Adele, Sister Hood and a member organised a surprise birthday party for me, it was so great!! Probably one of the best birthdays!! I love them and I really appreciate the effort that they put in to make my birthday great!!

I love you all!!

Sister Edholm -- week 37

As the title states, this week wasn't the best...
Most of our friends decided that they were going to drop us. On the same day. lol. It wasn't a funny joke.
I didn't get a good night's sleep until last night.

The best part of our week is our friend Frank. He is probably our best friend. He cheered us up and made us realise that their are good people in this world. I love him.

Charity Never Faileth

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland said: “The first great commandment of all eternity is to love God with all of our heart, might, mind, and strength—that’s the first great commandment. But the first great truth of all eternity is that God loves us with all of His heart, might, mind, and strength. That love is the foundation stone of eternity, and it should be the foundation stone of our daily life.”

God loves us. The end.

Sister Edholm -- week 36

We have had a busy week!!

We had All-Ireland on Tuesday. It was really good! We talked a lot about getting referrals from members. It was good to see some role plays on them because I have always been a bit wimpy about doing that. I don't know why, I just never know how to say it. It is easy at someone's door when we are chapping, but for some reason when it is someone I know it is hard. But we are working on it!! I know that it will help!
Besides that it was good to see everyone there, I actually feel like I know people now haha.

The bishop's daughter in our ward had her farewell yesterday. She did such a good job! It reminded me of when I was leaving for my mission. What an exciting time that was. I realised though how I don't know how to act in social situations anymore. Haha, they had a lot of their friends over and they invited us over for dinner with them and I really didn't know what to say. GREAT! I am going to be so awkward when I go home, bear with me please!!

I love you all, thank you for all of the support!!

Sister Edholm - week 35

We have had a great week!!

We went to the Polish shop next to our house because we hear that it had Cheetos and it did!! Well . . . I mean it was the Cheeto brand, but they weren't the best. They didn't taste like normal and they had some weird flavours. There was hamburger and hot dog and ketchup. Haha oh well I guess you live and you learn.

We had a great opportunity yesterday to help and feed the homeless with a member from our ward. It was nice to do something different on a Sunday. As a missionary, Sundays aren't that different then the rest of the week. It was such a good experience to see their smiling faces as we gave them a warm meal and some necessities.

I have been thinking a lot this week about the Spirit and how we are led by it. It has been the biggest struggle of my mission, knowing that I can trust and that the Spirit will guide me. Elder Bednar says that as long as we are being good girls and boys and follow God's commandments that the Spirit will guide us! I learned that this week as we were able to run into one of our friends that we haven't been able to get ahold of, we decided to do our finding loop one more time before dinner and we were able to run into him, God does answer our prayers and is aware of us!

I hope that you all have a great week and know that God loves you!! :)

Love,
Sister Edholm

Sister Edholm -- week 34

Alright, so last week we got a call from some sisters in Dublin and they say that they have some bikes for us that they are bringing that were in their flat. Which is pretty great and we were excited to be able to get places faster. Well they called us later on and apparently one of them had tripped over them and ripped her fingernail off. . . lol. So they came later that night because apparently she had to rest. Anyway, they brought them to us and they ended up being men's bikes and they were huge, like HUGE. Like I can't touch the ground and we are going to crash huge, plus I can't get on them even in jeans. SO they are at the church now awaiting their next adventure.

Gospel principles was a little crazy yesterday. We started out by talking about the Plan of Salvation, but it turned into a Q & A session, a member came in and sat in for a bit and asked us what lesson we were teaching and I didn't even know what to say. Hopefully we answered their questions well enough and they will all come back next week! Please pray!! :)

The work of the Lord will always go forth. God will provide a way for all of His children to hear the gospel. We aren't the real teachers, the Spirit is and will testify of truth, which is why we need to do our best and be obedient!

Love you guys!!
